DESPARATE AND IN URGENT NEED OF SPONSORSHIP

SIANTAIYO MUSERIAN

Siantaiyo Muserian is a 12 year old girl who dreams of becoming an engineer. “My boma in Kenya has very bad roads and I promise to build better roads for the Maasai once I get a job. I would like it if better roads were here now so that I can make it to school easier. I have to walk far distances and when it rains, I have to walk in the deep mud. I don’t have shoes to protect my feet.”

Siantaiyo does well in school, but a day school is not the answer to her education. She lacks books and supplies. When school lets out, Siantaiyo must walk many miles before she gets home. She has to immediately go and collect fire wood. Once she returns (usually several hours later) Siantaiyo must then go out to the bush to collect water from the river. When she returns home, it is dark. There is no electricity. Often, Siantaiyo must go to sleep on an empty stomach and awaken the same. Just a few months ago, Siantaiyo’s older sister, Nareni went to collect water from the river. She had to travel through the same bush that animals hunt and graze in. Although dangerous, Nareni traveled at night hoping that the water would be more available to her at that time, but she never returned. Nareni lost her life after being trampled by an elephant.

Siantaiyo wants to succeed in life as a gift to her sister who could not make it. Please go to our web site: http://www.matanyashope.com/ and read more about what you can do to help prevent this crisis from re-occurring. With the placement of rainwater storage tanks and bore holes, we can help to provide water to these drought stricken communities.

NAKEARO KURSAI

Nakearo Kursai is a 10 year old Maasai girl living in Kolong Village in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. Here she is pictured in her day school uniform from Oloilegero Primary School. Nakearo is passionate about learning. Her hobbies are singing and dancing – especially songs and dances from her cultural Maasai tradition.

After meeting Nakearo this summer, the Matanya’s Hope missions’ team was determined to find support for her future. Her parents struggle to feed the family. They are both jobless and can not afford to purchase as much as a pencil for her education. Her determination and passion for learning made it clear to us that we had to help. Ben Kursai, Nakearo’s brother is also in the Matanya’s Hope scholarship program. He is determined as well to make it in life. Ben wants to become a doctor.

Please give Nakearo a chance. It doesn’t take much for us to give up a pizza and a big screen movie once a month (approximately what it takes to sponsor a child through Matanya’s Hope), but the blessings that come from sponsorship are almost guaranteed to change not only Nakearo’s life, but yours as well.

After spending the last three months in Kenya, I realized just how blessed we are. In my deepest of struggles, I still have a warm bed to sleep in and a pair of shoes to put on every day. I have food to eat. Nakearo is simply asking for a chance to go to school so that she, too, can provide these necessities for herself and her family.

CHANGE IS THE LAW OF UNIVERSE

Whatever happened, happened for good
Whatever is happening, is appening for good.
Whatever that will happen, it will be for good.
What have you lost for which you cry?
What did you bring with you, for which you have lost?
What did you produce, which has destroyed?
You did not bring anythig when you were born.
Whatever you have, you recieved from him.
Whatever you will give, you will give to him.
You came empty handed, and you will go the same way.
Whatever is yours today, was somebody else's yesterday and will somebody else's tomorrow.
What choice are you going to make?
CHANGE IS ENEVITABLE
